Emergency Assistance - Prevention Retention and Contingency (PRC) Program

Due to state budget reductions, the PRC Program has experienced a significant funding reduction. We are no longer able to assist with rent/deposit, utility disconnect notices, or necessary household appliances. All available assistance will focus on employment related services (car repair, uniforms, tools, transportation, etc.). Please refer to the PRC plan for details on program changes. An application is needed for this program and eligibility is evaluated on a case by case basis. The PRC Program always requires a 50% co-pay to be made by the customer.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Families who have a minor child or a pregnant woman in the household, and income less than 200% of the federal poverty guideline should apply. A non-custodial parent may also qualify for employment related assistance provided that he/she is cooperating with the Child Support Enforcement Agency.

What we can assist with:

  • Automobile Repairs (individual must be working at least 25 hours weekly)

  • Transportation Assistance (for employment related activities only)

  • Equipment for employment (i.e. uniforms, tools)

PRC VENDOR INFORMATION

It is very easy to become a vendor for the PRC Program. If you own a property or business and an individual asks if you will accept a PRC Voucher, here is what you need to know:

  • PRC is a Emergency Assistance Program that offers short-term help to families in need. All individuals interested in PRC must apply and be found eligible.

  • Families must have a minor child or pregnant woman and fall below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline

  • Vendors read Dear Vendor Letter and Ohio New Hire Reporting Form Instructions then complete W9 , Ohio New Hire Reporting Form and the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of Homeland Security Form and return them to the agency to be added to the Vendor List.

  • Once both forms are completed and returned, the Vendor is added to a master list of individuals/businesses who will accept PRC Vouchers

  • If the individual is found eligible for the PRC, a PRC Voucher is issued to the vendor. This voucher must be signed and returned with a bill or invoice within 30 days so payment is issued promptly.

  • Once the voucher is returned to the agency with an original bill or invoice, it can take up to 30 days for payment to be sent from the Fairfield County Auditor’s Office.
