Are you a
Kinship Caregiver raising a child other than your own?
A Kinship Caregiver is most often a grandparent or other
adult relative that provides a safe and nurturing
environment and maintains the social and cultural ties for
the child in their care.
How is
child defined?
“Child” means any person under eighteen years of age or
a mentally or physically handicapped person, as defined by
rule of the department of human services, under twenty-one
years of age. ORC: 5153.01(A)
What is the
Kinship Navigator Program?
A program that offers free services such as assistance
in accessing community services, providing ongoing education
and offering support to Kinship Caregivers.
