Transportation

The Non Emergency Transportation (NET) program is designed to increase access to medical or counseling appointments for Medicaid eligible individuals.

Could I be eligible?
  • You may be eligible if you are a resident of Fairfield County, are in current receipt of Medicaid and are in need of attending a Medicaid reimbursable appointment.
  • Individuals who have met their spendown for the month they need transportation.
How do I apply?
  • Call the FCJFS Transportation Team at (740) 652-7682 or toll free at 1-800-450-8845.
  • All requests for transportation must be made at least 5 business days prior to the appointment.
  • All transportation customers must sign a Rights and Responsibilities form which must be returned to the transportation team to be kept on file.
  • Social Security numbers must be provided by the customer requesting transportation. Other required information includes the doctor’s name, address, appointment date and time of appointment.
What services are available?
  • Fairfield County Job and Family Services staff will determine the most cost effective mode of transportation that matches the individual’s medical condition and time constraints.
FCJFS transportation drivers
  • Fairfield County Job and Family Services employs trained drivers who provide transportation to eligible individuals.
Contracted Agencies
  • Fairfield County Job and Family Services staff will schedule transportation with a contracted external driving agency to ensure eligible individuals can attend their scheduled medical appointment.
Gas Vouchers
  • Gas vouchers may be available on a limited basis.
Other Transportation
  • Other transportation may be available for those in receipt of public assistance. This transportation is limited to specific activities. Please contact your Success Coach or the Call Center at (740) 652-7889 for more information regarding this type of transportation.
